Pakistan is witnessing an accelerating demand for solar energy, especially driven by the commercial sector recognizing the reliability and cost-efficiency of solar power as an alternative to traditional electricity sources. This surge in demand is timely, given the country’s ongoing challenges with its electricity sector.
Recent data underscores the state of Pakistan’s electricity sector. A report by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) reveals significant financial losses due to inefficiencies within the system. Additionally, high electricity tariffs and persistent load shedding further complicate the energy landscape, particularly in areas with low bill recovery rates. The experts note that this situation burdens consumers, who are forced to choose between paying high bills for electricity or resorting to expensive alternatives like private generators. Hundreds of enterprises in Pakistan are unable to fulfill business operations and are bearing financial losses due to the limited access to the grid. In addition, businesses are constantly faced with rising electricity prices.
Given these challenges, solar energy emerges as a compelling solution, offering substantial benefits to local enterprises. The positive outlook is driven by recent reforms in solar initiatives and the swift progress in solar technology.
Neosun Energy, an international fast-growing solar EPC and manufacturing company has recently expanded its footprint in Pakistan by launching two branches in Karachi and Lahore. Known for its global outreach, Neosun has already extended its services and components to 16 countries including Africa, the Middle East, Latin America or CIS. With significant contracts under its belt from reputable clients like Allianz, Adidas, CBN or Polymetal, Neosun is bringing high international standards to the local market. Within the first month of operations in Pakistan, Neosun has achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing projects in the region.
CEO of Neosun Energy, Mr. Ilya Likhov sees great prospects in the implementation of solar energy solutions for local businesses in Pakistan.
“Solar energy is the most cost-effective form of energy generation today. And we want to clearly show entrepreneurs that with the help of solar energy solutions, you can not only abstractly contribute to improving the energy situation in the region, but also literally reduce bills, generate more profits and greater profitability for business.
We opened two local offices quite recently and were glad to immediately receive such warm feedback from clients, having successfully completed projects in Pakistan. We strongly believe that the new Neosun Energy offices will help to be closer to local customers, – emphasized CEO of Neosun Energy Ilya Likhov. –
We have a new global approach, extensive worldwide experience, international standards and we bring these high standards to the local market in Pakistan, thereby helping the local market solve their energy problems. Also, since we go directly to the customers, we can lower prices for the end users, disrupting the market not only in terms of price but also in service quality”.
The main focus of Neosun Energy is the design and construction of solar power plants and energy storage systems (ESS) for industrial and commercial enterprises, with capacities ranging from 100kW to 5MW. We are particularly strong in projects for medium-sized businesses with capacities ranging from 200kW to 800kW, which the company implements for end customers on a turnkey basis. The focus industries include manufacturing, warehousing, shopping malls, commercial offices, mining and industrial facilities and pharmaceuticals. Moreover, Neosun Energy manufactures equipment under its own brand, such as solar panels, lithium-ion batteries, and energy storage systems. It has also developed its own mobile containerized PowerHub systems, which can be a key solution for remote areas with a lack of power.
For local enterprises in Pakistan, solar energy represents a significant cost-saving opportunity. The payback period for solar projects is generally less than two years in most sunny regions. By investing in solar installations, SMEs can save on electricity bills and recoup their investment in just 1.5 to 2.5 years, leading to pure profit by the third year.
“Our vision spreads beyond the market trends and goals, as we are in the market to provide cheapest energy to every corner of the world. We strive to become the one window to all of our Fellow people’s problems. One of our core focuses is to bring evaluation in the market to deal with the common problems of space restraint, when mounting such efficient solar plants. We bring you the Frame-less, Glass solar modules to be used as Skylights on your roofs, and as a glass window to your high-rise buildings, – said Junaid Kabir, Head of Sales in Neosun Energy Pakistan Branch.
– With over 9 years of Experience and R&D in making the product efficient and more affordable we are continuously making our planet a better place”.
