The next Chief Justice of Pakistan will be Qazi Faez Isa, as the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi approves. Qazi Faez Isa will take oath on 17th September 2023.
Qazi Faez was appointed as a senior judge of the Supreme Court on 5th September 2014. He has also been a member of Baluchistan and Sindh High Court Bar Association as well as the life member of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan.
The presidency released an announcement that as current Chief Justice, Umer Ata Bandial will reach his retirement age on September 16th, therefore as per Article 179 of the Constitution, Qazi Faez Isa will hold the seat on 17th September 2023.
Qazi Faez Isa is known for his initiatives to promote transparency in courts. Pakistan expects high hopes from his tenure as Chief Justice Pakistan.
