Price of sugar has reduced by Rs 43 per kilo, According to Fawad Chaudhry

Fawad Chaudhry, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, announced that the price of sugar has reduced by Rs43 per kilogramme, while criticising the media for allegedly failing to broadcast the news.

In a tweet, the minister stated that the price of sugar has decreased by Rs43 per kilogramme, not Rs5 or Rs10 per kilogramme.

“The fact is our media runs on [airing] conspiracies and [instability] in the country,” Fawad remarked, criticising the media for’refraining’ from publicising the development.

“This is why new [media] laws are necessary,” the minister continued, describing “the link between bad media and fake news” as particularly harmful.

“Sugar mill owners have obtained a stay on their cases, and encouraged the courts to expedite the processes,” Fawad said in response to a citizen’s question about sugar hoarders.
