Prince Rahim Aga Khan V Named 50th Imam of Ismaili Muslims

Prince Rahim Aga Khan V has officially been named the 50th Imam of the Ismaili Muslim community after the passing of his father, Mawlana Shah Karim Aga Khan IV.

The announcement was made in Lisbon, Portugal, where the late Imam’s will was read in the presence of his family and senior Ismaili leaders. The decision marks a significant moment for the Ismaili community, as they welcome a new spiritual leader.

Prince Rahim was born on October 12, 1971, and is the eldest son of Aga Khan IV. Over the years, he has played an important role in the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), working on projects related to education, health, and economic development. His deep understanding of global issues and his leadership experience make him well-prepared to guide the community into the future.

Under his leadership, the Ismaili community is expected to continue its focus on humanitarian efforts, cultural preservation, and social development. Many Ismailis around the world are expressing their support and hope for a prosperous future under their new Imam.
