PSL 10 Ready for Action as Full Squads Revealed

The much-anticipated player draft for the tenth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) concluded in Lahore, marking a significant step toward the league’s kickoff scheduled from April 8 to May 19, 2025. All six teams, including the 2020 champions Karachi Kings, have finalized their squads, featuring a mix of seasoned international players, rising stars, and experienced local talent.

Karachi Kings

Karachi Kings made headlines with their impressive picks, securing Australian left-handed batter David Warner as their second pick in the Platinum round. Warner, who boasts a staggering 12,727 T20 runs in 392 matches, will make his PSL debut this season. Adding firepower to their pace attack, the Kings selected New Zealand’s Adam Milne in the second Platinum round. With 213 wickets in 186 T20 matches, Milne’s pace is expected to be a significant asset.

The Kings also opted for Mohammad Abbas Afridi using their Wild Card. Afridi, the leading wicket-taker in PSL 2023 with 23 dismissals for Multan Sultans, brings proven credentials to their lineup. Other notable picks include New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, who will join his compatriot Milne, and Mohammad Nabi, further bolstering the team’s overseas contingent.

Islamabad United

Islamabad United built a balanced squad featuring seasoned internationals and emerging talent. The team retained Shadab Khan, Matthew Short, and Naseem Shah in the Platinum category. Imad Wasim, serving as mentor, adds leadership depth alongside Diamond picks Azam Khan and Jason Holder.

Emerging players like Hunain Shah and Saad Masood will have a chance to prove their mettle alongside experienced players such as Colin Munro, Muhammad Nawaz, and Rumman Raees. Riley Meredith and Rassie van der Dussen were added in the supplementary round, rounding off a formidable lineup.

Multan Sultans

Multan Sultans have assembled a strong squad led by Mohammad Rizwan in the Platinum category. Usama Mir and Michael Bracewell join him to strengthen the team. David Willey, serving as a mentor, and Iftikhar Ahmed, the Brand Ambassador, highlight the team’s commitment to blending experience and leadership.

The bowling attack includes Chris Jordan and Mohammad Hasnain, complemented by emerging talents like Ubaid Shah and Shahid Aziz. Supplementary picks include Johnson Charles, Shai Hope, and Yasir Khan.

Peshawar Zalmi

Peshawar Zalmi’s squad revolves around Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, their Platinum picks. They added Mohammad Haris and Corbin Bosch in the Diamond category to boost their batting depth. Hussain Talat, Abdul Samad, and Nahid Rana form a reliable Gold group.

Max Bryant and Najeebullah Zadran are notable international signings, while Ali Raza and Maaz Sadaqat represent the emerging category. The supplementary round saw the inclusion of Ahmed Daniyal and Alzarri Joseph.

Quetta Gladiators

Quetta Gladiators retained a mix of seasoned campaigners and promising youngsters. Faheem Ashraf, Finn Allen, and Mark Chapman were their Platinum picks. Rilee Rossouw and Abrar Ahmed, along with mentor Mohammad Amir, were selected in the Diamond category.

Emerging players Mohammad Zeeshan and Hasan Nawaz join a squad that includes international names like Kyle Jamieson and Kusal Mendis. Shoaib Malik, Sean Abbott, and Danish Aziz round out the supplementary picks.

Lahore Qalandars

Defending champions Lahore Qalandars secured a strong lineup with Daryl Mitchell, Fakhar Zaman, and Shaheen Shah Afridi in the Platinum category. Haris Rauf, the Brand Ambassador, will be key to their bowling attack, alongside Sikandar Raza and Kusal Perera in Diamond.

The team added David Wiese, Zaman Khan, and Abdullah Shafique to provide a balanced mix of experience and youth. Emerging players Mohammad Azab and Momin Qamar will look to make their mark. Supplementary picks include Tom Curran and Sam Billings.
