PTCL and global technology company, Nokia have agreed to work together to explore opportunities for growth of ICT sector in Pakistan in order to digitalize the government, cities, industries and businesses. The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the GITEX Global 2022 in Dubai, UAE to tap into the potential of Pakistan’s ICT market to spur the process of nationwide digital transformation.
“We are the largest ICT services provider having a wide footprint across Pakistan,” PTCL & Ufone’ Group Chief Business Solutions Officer, Zarrar Hasham Khan said at the signing ceremony in Dubai, UAE. “PTCL plays a pivotal role in driving digital transformation throughout Pakistan, meeting the need of collaboration in the ICT segment,” He added.
The MoU will facilitate discussion between PTCL and Nokia to strategize and build a go-to-market plan to address industry needs by selling PTCL solutions with Nokia products and services including Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC), a high-performance, end-to-end private wireless networking and edge computing platform.
Zarrar Hasham Khan expressed hope that the MoU with Nokia will revolutionize various sectors including healthcare, education, automotive, retail, energy, utilities, cities, agriculture and a range of other industries across Pakistan.
Head of Customer Team for PTCL Group at Nokia, who signed the MoU on behalf of his organization, stated, “Nokia has deployed mission-critical networks to more than 2,200 leading enterprise customers in the transport, energy, large enterprise, manufacturing, webscale, and public sector segments around the globe.”
He said that the MoU with PTCL would further strengthen the long-term relationship between the two organizations. “We will leverage our industry-leading private wireless products and services including Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) to empower PTCL to cost-effectively offer digital solutions to their enterprise customers across a wide spectrum of segments,” He added.
