The Punjab government has recently imposed a complete ban on the unlicensed workshops that are engaged in the making as well as repairing of the commercial vehicle bodies. This action has been taken in order to ensure the safety of life and money.
Meanwhile, in addition, to this act, the excise department has also launched a crackdown on the workshops manufacturing the bodies for any incomplete vehicle with only an engine and a base frames in Punjab.
The decision for this ban of unlicensed vehicle body makers came in the view of reports by stating that the certain local auto-manufacturer or repairers had been selling the engines and the chassis of many commercial vehicles, instead of a complete vehicle as per the information shared by excise department official privy to this matter.
