In the coming years, the Punjab government plans to convert all public sector electricity connections to solar energy.
According to a high-ranking official, 10,500 public schools and colleges in Punjab have already been converted to solar energy, and all basic health units are currently being converted to solar energy, with all public sector universities following suit.
The above-mentioned measures are expected to save the Punjab government Rs. 36 billion in federal payments per year.
In addition, Zhenfa Pakistan New Energy Company is constructing 100 MW solar power plants in Layyah district.
The step by the Punjab government is in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s goal of promoting clean and green energy across the world.
