Punjab Police to Use AI Software to Catch Riders Without Helmets

The Punjab Police has taken a groundbreaking initiative by incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) to address the issue of motorcycle riders not wearing helmets in the province.

Developed by the Safe Cities Authority, this innovative software employs AI to monitor and penalize individuals who are riding without helmets. The system utilizes the surveillance capabilities of CCTV cameras to identify and enforce compliance.

Led by MD Safe Cities Ahsan Younis and SSP Rafat Bukhari, with the endorsement of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, this AI-based solution marks a significant advancement in the enforcement of traffic rules. The implementation of this technology is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing safety and ensuring widespread adherence to traffic regulations across Punjab.
