Punjab to Give Free Metro Tickets to School and College Students

Punjab authorities are considering a proposal to transport the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) free of charge for students in Lahore.

200,000 students will receive tickets in the first phase. The metro authorities will seek suggestions and recommendations from school administrators in this regard.

Students’ subway passes could be used to travel to and from school.

The Orange Line is an automated fast transit line in Lahore managed by the Punjab Mass Transit Authority.

Regardless, the subway line extends 27.1 km (16.8 miles) with 25.4 km (15.8 miles) of elevated and 1.72 km (1.1 miles) of the underground track with 26 stations.
