Punjab Traffic Police Doubles all Challan Fees

Increase in traffic citations has been approved by provincial cabinet proposed by the Punjab Traffic Police. The penalty for maintaining road discipline in Punjab’s major cities has been raised.

The fine for speeding, incorrect parking, driving in the other lane, and riding a motorcycle without lights at night will now be Rs. 400, not Rs. 200, and those driving cars will be punished with Rs. 750, while those driving commercial or public transportation vehicles will be fined Rs. 1000.

The rickshaw driver’s fine has been raised from Rs 250 to Rs 500.

The new challenge rates are now in force, and drivers are reminded to be cautious and responsible while driving on congested highways.
