Roti Prices in Punjab Drop to Rs. 16

On Sunday, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif made an important announcement on a social media platform, X. She declared that the provincial government had taken steps to lower the price of bread to Rs16 per loaf. She emphasized the importance of this decision by instructing all districts and relevant departments in the province to ensure its strict enforcement.

Expressing hope for improved livelihoods, the chief minister stated, “May Allah Almighty bring more ease in the lives of people.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also commended Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for the positive changes in the country’s economic indicators. She highlighted the progress made in Pakistan’s economy under the tenure of the PML-N government, with visible benefits emerging.

Furthermore, she pointed out that reductions in electricity rates and price increases would bring relief to ordinary citizens, a development acknowledged by major international financial institutions such as the IMF and ADB.

She also mentioned the possibility of a decrease in the inflation rate to 12.2% next year and highlighted the recent Rs500 reduction in the price of a 20kg flour bag. Additionally, she indicated the potential for further reductions in flour prices by Rs300 based on market indicators.
