Rs. 400 Billion for Farmers! CM Punjab Launched Kisan Card

On Monday, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the launch of 10 new projects valued at Rs400 billion, specifically aimed at supporting farmers across Punjab. These initiatives, completed within just six months, mark a significant step forward for the agricultural sector. Speaking at a ceremony in Hafizabad where Kisan Cards were distributed, she highlighted the historic introduction of these cards, now worth Rs150 billion, for the first time in Punjab.

The Chief Minister revealed plans to increase the number of Kisan Cardholders from 0.5 million to 0.75 million. She also pledged additional support for farmers with promises of free laser leveling equipment for those farming between 12.5 to 25 acres and free tractors for those cultivating more than 25 acres. Further, she announced rental agricultural machinery available without any profit charges to help farmers manage costs. The number of Kisan Card dealers has also been expanded to 3,000, making these benefits more accessible.

Maryam Nawaz acknowledged the challenges faced by Punjab’s farmers, particularly the burden of high electricity bills which reduces their profits. She expressed a strong commitment to making essential items like bread and flour more affordable, while also working to improve farmers’ incomes and reduce their financial struggles.

She urged farmers to place their trust in her leadership, stating that other provinces are now taking a keen interest in Punjab’s agricultural initiatives. The Chief Minister expressed hope for reducing inflation and lawlessness in the region as her administration continues to work towards a better future for farmers.

In closing, she reiterated the Punjab government’s dedication to uplifting farmers’ lives and mentioned that Nawaz Sharif is closely monitoring the progress of the Kisan Card and tractor schemes to ensure they deliver real benefits to the agricultural community.
