Data from pipeline operators shows that westbound natural gas flows through the Yamal-Europe pipeline have ceased, but Gazprom’s bids for additional transit capacity via Ukraine remain at high levels.
Flows to Germany at the Mallnow metering point were around 101,119 kilowatt hours per hour (kWh/h) on Friday morning, and around 13.5 million kWh/h overnight.
On Thursday, Russian energy company Gazprom began westbound natural gas supplies from Poland to Germany via the Yamal-Europe pipeline, booking 7.8 million kilowatt-hours per hour of gas transit capacity across the network from Friday am to Saturday early.
