Former Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal praised Asif Ali for leading the Men in Green to win over Afghanistan in the 2018 T20 World Cup.
In the 19th over, the 30-year-old hammered pacer Karim Janat for four sixes to help Pakistan pass a difficult 148-run mark, securing them three wins in a row in the Super 12 Stages Group 2. After his heroics against Afghanistan, Ajmal believes that Asif is the “next Shahid Afridi.”
“Asif Ali displayed glimpses of Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razaaq during the encounter against Afghanistan. I haven’t seen someone hit sixes like Shahid Afridi in a long time. He did a fantastic job, and I’m hoping he can keep it up in the upcoming matches,” Ajmal remarked.
