Saqlain Mushtaq, Pakistan’s head coach, threw his support behind skipper Babar Azam ahead of the country’s next historic home series against Australia.
“Babar is the best player in the world,” former Test off-spinner Saqlain told reporters at the National Stadium in Karachi, where the Pakistan Test players have begun a training camp under the supervision of Saqlain and batting coach Mohammad Yousuf.
“I am certain about Babar,” Saqlain remarked. “He’s a world-class player, a strong leader who can bowl both spin and quick.
He has racked up a lot of runs for Pakistan, and every [cricket] expert on the planet has something to say about him.”
In the present Pakistan Super League, Babar’s Karachi Kings have lost eight consecutive Twenty20 matches (PSL). The champions of 2020 are no longer eligible for the playoffs.
