Saudi Arabia’s pledge of $500 million (Rs75.5 billion) would aid Pakistan’s infrastructure, hydropower projects, and water resources growth.
During a meeting with a delegation of women entrepreneurs led by Dr. Ayesha Tahir, President of the Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iftikhar Ali Malik said that Saudi Arabia will fund electricity, infrastructure, water, transportation, and communication projects in Pakistan under one of the seven MoUs signed between the two countries.
He said that as a result of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s fruitful visit, Saudi Arabia had agreed to set aside a significant amount of money to hire 10 million Pakistanis over the next ten years as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. He added that this would help Pakistanis find work while also earning foreign currency.
Malik went on to say that the decision was a watershed moment for Pakistani youth. Malik emphasized that Pakistan’s private sector should take advantage of PM Khan’s visit and seize all opportunities presented to the country.
