Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Air Receives Over 1 Million Job Applications

Since it started operating on March 12th last year, Riyadh Air, which is owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has received over 1 million job applications online, the airline announced on Wednesday. People from more than 100 countries applied as the airline built its team, hosting recruitment events in cities like London, Paris, Dubai, and Riyadh.

The airline plans to start flying in 2025 with the aim of helping Saudi Arabia’s economy grow, creating jobs, and achieving the goals of Vision 2030. It hopes to increase non-oil GDP by $20 billion and create over 200,000 jobs around the world.

Tony Douglas, Riyadh Air’s CEO, said, “2023 was an important year for Riyadh Air, and we’re proud of what we achieved in the past 12 months. But we see this as just the start.” He added, “This year will be even more important, and we’re excited to share more details as we get closer to our first flight in 2025, aiming to be the most innovative airline in the business.”
