Greg Barclay’s term as Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) officially ended, and Jay Shah took over the role on Sunday.
Barclay’s term was scheduled to end on November 30, and after his term finished, Shah, who is the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), stepped into the position of ICC Chairman.
It was initially reported that Barclay’s term could be extended for a week, but sources confirmed that Jay Shah officially took over the role on Sunday.
Shah’s election as ICC Chairman came after Greg Barclay announced his resignation in August. Shah was elected to the position without any opposition. With Jay Shah now in charge, the ICC moves forward with a new leader.
This marks a significant change in leadership at the ICC, with Jay Shah set to lead the organization into its next phase.
