The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a strong heatwave across Pakistan during the Eidul Azha holidays from May 25 to May 31.
The Punjab PDMA has also issued an alert, warning that temperatures may rise extremely high in many areas.
In parts of Punjab and South Punjab, temperatures could reach between 47°C and 50°C, creating very dangerous conditions.
Other regions of the country are also expected to experience intense heat during this period.
Hot to very hot weather is expected in major cities including Karachi, Islamabad, and areas of interior Sindh.
Authorities have advised people to take precautions, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay hydrated during the Eid holidays.
The severe weather is especially concerning because Eid travel and outdoor activities are expected to increase during these days.
Officials are monitoring the situation and urging citizens to stay safe and follow heat safety guidelines.
Health experts warn that prolonged exposure to extreme heat can cause dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke, especially for children, elderly people, and outdoor workers.
Power demand is also expected to increase due to heavy use of fans and air conditioners, which may put pressure on electricity supply in some areas.
Water consumption is likely to rise as people try to cope with high temperatures, increasing the need for careful water management.
Authorities have asked the public to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours, wear light clothing, and check on vulnerable family members regularly.
