During a T20 Vitality match on Friday night, Pakistani leg-spinner Shadab Khan suffered a neck injury and had to leave the field. Shadab, who is currently playing for Sussex Sharks in the UK’s county cricket, collided with his teammate Nathan McAndrew while attempting to catch a ball during the match against Somerset.
The collision happened when Somerset’s Tom Kohler-Cadmore hit a shot over extra cover. Both fielders fell to the ground and required immediate medical attention. The game was paused for about 10 minutes.
Shadab underwent a concussion protocol before being taken off the field. Medical professionals continuously monitored his condition. On the other hand, McAndrew continued playing after receiving medical treatment, including the concussion protocol.
