WhatsApp to Roll Out these 3 New Shortcuts

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app owned by Meta, is working on a redesigned settings page that will include three new shortcuts, according to a report by WABetainfo. The upcoming feature aims to provide users with an improved experience while navigating through the app’s settings. The redesigned interface will introduce three new shortcuts: profile, privacy, and contacts.

One of the new shortcuts will be the starred message shortcut, which is already available on WhatsApp for iOS. WhatsApp plans to incorporate this shortcut within the app settings for easier access. Additionally, the chat list will have a new shortcut to quickly open the app settings.

Once enabled in a future update, users will be able to experiment with the new interface and functionality of the app settings. This reorganization of settings aims to make options more easily accessible and user-friendly.

In addition to the redesigned settings page, WhatsApp is also working on a username feature. This feature will allow users to choose unique usernames for their accounts, providing an extra layer of privacy. Instead of solely relying on phone numbers to identify contacts, users will have the option to use a memorable username. This username feature may enable users to communicate privately with businesses or other users without revealing their phone numbers.

It’s important to note that these features are still in development and not yet visible to users. However, they hold the potential to enhance the WhatsApp experience by offering improved settings navigation and additional privacy options through unique usernames.
