On Saturday, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi slammed experienced Australian all-rounder James Faulkner for making “baseless charges” over a financial issue in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Faulkner, who is currently playing for the Quetta Gladiators, claims that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) did not honour his contract and “continued to lie” to him. In reaction to the charges, the PCB chastised the cricketer for his “reprehensible” behaviour before banning him from all future PSL draughts.
Afridi took to Twitter to respond to Faulkner’s remarks and actions, writing, “Disappointed by @JamesFaulkner44’s comments, in which he retaliated for Pakistan’s hospitality and arrangements by making false accusations. We’ve all been treated with respect, and our payments have never been late. No one should be permitted to tarnish the image of Pakistan, Pakistan cricket, or the #HBLPSL.”
