Skipper Babar Azam Completes 2 Years as No.1 ODI Batter in the World

Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistani cricket team, has finished his second season as the top ODI batsman in the world, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Since making his debut in 2015, the 26-year-old right-hander has been in outstanding form, solidifying his status as one of cricket’s top hitters.

Azam became the fourth player in history to occupy the top spot for more than 1000 days when he assumed control of the ICC ODI rankings in April 2019 and has held it ever since. He has now held the top spot for 1032 days, which is evidence of his dependability and skill as a batter.

Azam has scored an astounding 2331 runs at an average of 64.75 in 42 games during his two years as the top-ranked ODI hitter, including eight hundred and 12 half-centuries.

He became the first Pakistani player to record a double century in ODI cricket with his maximum score of 210* against Zimbabwe in 2021.
