On August 14, 2023, on Independence Day, President Arif Alvi honored 304 Pakistani and foreign individuals who have made significant contributions to society with awards. However, the formal award ceremony is planned for Pakistan Day, March 23, 2024. One of the 118 honorees receiving the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz Award is Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri.
Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri, the person behind the Jafriya Disaster Management Cell Welfare Organization (JDC), is going to be recognized with the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz Award for his valuable contributions to society. Zafar Abbas grew up in Karachi in a modest family and has been a force for positive change. Through his organization, JDC, he has found effective solutions to important social issues, especially in Education and Healthcare.
