According to the documents sent to the stock exchange, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) faced bigger losses in the first six months of 2023. Their losses increased to PKR 9.3 billion from PKR 1.9 billion in the same period last year.
During the first half of this year, the company’s total loss was PKR 2,197 million. This is a big change from the PKR 2,061 million profit they made last year. Also, their finance costs went up by 35.5 percent, reaching PKR 3,011 million.
Additionally, the company had to pay extra charges of PKR 6,257 million, which is 17.5 percent more than last year’s PKR 5,321 million.
Sui Southern Gas Company Limited mainly works on moving and giving out natural gas in Sindh and Baluchistan. They also do other gas-related jobs like making and selling gas meters and building pipelines.
