The rates for calls and the internet services have been raised by the companies of cellular phone, yet again. The networks including Zong, Jazz, and Telenor have also been raised their packages prices for data and calls.
This is the second time, that the companies have uprised the prices for calls and data packages since the mini budget in January 2022.
The Superload package of the companies have been raised 50 percent from Rs. 50 to Rs. 100. The companies have started to implement higher rates, according to the shopkeepers and retailers. The rates for normal internet and data packages have been raised up to Rs. 25 from Rs. 10. Furthermore, the call packages for monthly basis, have also been increased. The monthly bundles have been raised by Rs.100 from Rs. 40, and the all-in-one packages for weekly basis have been raised from Rs. 10 to Rs. 20.
There was a mini-budget enacted by the Pakisn Tehreek-e-Insaaf Government, which basically doubled the payable tax from 10% to 15% contradicting the demands of the Telecom Sector.
Previously, a leading Telecom company was recently been authorised to raise the prices of packages, but in the current months, all of the other companies have also been authorised to do the same, having the approval of PTA, As per the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
After the restrictions were being enacted, the government has shared a version of guidelines of prices with the companies of cellular phone, CMO’s will have to ask for permission before boosting up the prices for internet and call packages.
