Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai in China is incredibly efficient, producing a new Model 3 or Model Y every 40 seconds. This manufacturing speed surpasses even Ford’s truck plant in Michigan, which can produce an F-150 every 49 seconds.
A video shared on Shanghai’s tourism handle shows the inside of the factory, with robotic arms working in tandem to improve efficiency. Tesla has stated in its earnings reports that the Shanghai factory has been operating at near maximum capacity for months, and they don’t feel the need to increase production further in China.
