The Sindh government has introduced the Thar Desert Train Safari, a unique initiative designed to boost tourism and showcase the cultural heritage of the region. This new train experience offers passengers an exciting journey through the heart of Sindh, providing a closer look at its history, traditions, and breathtaking desert scenery.
The train will depart from Karachi and travel through Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas before reaching Chhor, a town near Pakistan’s border with India. Along the way, passengers will get to experience the diverse landscapes and cultural highlights of Sindh.
Upon arrival at Chhor, the tour includes a range of activities such as a sunset view, a bonfire, live music, and a traditional dinner. Travelers can choose to spend the night on the train, in a campsite, or at resorts in Parchi Jeveri.
The Sindh Tourism Development Corporation has set the ticket price at Rs30,000 per adult. Despite the high demand, officials have ensured that future trips will be available for more tourists eager to explore this hidden gem of Pakistan.
The Sindh tourism minister expressed enthusiasm about the project, emphasizing that the safari will offer visitors an authentic experience of Sindh’s Thar region. Officials also confirmed that the first trip has already been fully booked, reflecting strong public interest in this new venture.
With the launch of the Thar Desert Train Safari, Sindh is taking a major step toward promoting local tourism and preserving its cultural legacy.
