The government anticipates that the smartphone business will grow faster than the automobile industry

Hammad Azhar, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Industries and Production, expressed the hope that the innovation phone manufacturing sector would outperform the country’s automobile industry in terms of export income in the next ten years.

On Saturday, he spoke as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the Airlink Smartphone Assembly Line at Kot Lakhpat’s Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate.

Hammad Azhar claimed that the PTI government’s successful and well-thought-out industrial policies have resulted in an industrial revolution and substantial economic growth.

To combat mobile phone smuggling, the government studied anti-smuggling strategies from other countries. It implemented DIRBS (Mobile Devices Identification, Registration, and Blocking System), which required no mobile phone to be activated in Pakistan without clearing/paying all relevant duties and taxes.
