Under the University of Child Health Sciences Lahore Act, 2021, the Punjab government founded the University of Child Health Sciences.
Aamir Jan, Secretary of the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department, said the Institute of Child Health has been elevated to the rank of a university, with Lahore’s Children Hospital as its constituent hospital. “The university will house the College of Paediatrics, College of Paediatric Nursing, and College of Allied Health Sciences,” he stated.
The health secretary added, “This is a landmark project that will act as Pakistan’s first degree awarding institute in child health.” He explained that under the act, all moveable and immovable properties, rights and interests, and all liabilities against the Children Hospital or Institute of Child Health will be transferred to the university. “
