It should be noted that work on the tax proposals in the budget 2023-24 is ongoing; the government has proposed retaining the mini budget of 170 billion and imposing additional GST on several items, including imported milk, fish, meat, jam, jelly, and tea. The percentage sales tax will be kept.
According to the budget proposals, the general sales tax on imported milk will be raised from 12% to 18%, and the sales tax on canned meat and fish will be raised from 12% to 18%.
