Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir expressed serious concern over the low salaries being paid to staff during a surprise visit to a Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic. While interacting with employees, he learned that some workers were receiving only Rs. 15,000 per month, prompting him to question the fairness of such wages.
He described the amount as inadequate, especially given the rising cost of living, and emphasized that employees deserve reasonable compensation for their services.
The minister directed the relevant authorities to immediately investigate the matter and submit a detailed report on the salary structure. He stressed that workers should not be forced to manage their daily expenses on such limited income and called for swift corrective measures to ensure fair pay.
Khawaja Imran Nazir also reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to improving healthcare services by addressing staff welfare and ensuring that frontline healthcare workers are treated with dignity and fairness.
