Transgender Community Kicks off Sindh’s first-ever Moorat March

The transgender community of Sindh unified on Sunday to kick off its first-ever Sindh Moorat March, demanding equality and protection against hate speech.

The march was organized by the Gender Interactive Alliance (GIA) to commemorate the International Transgender Day of Remembrance.

People who are transgender and their cis-gendered allies joined for a proclamation of demands at the Frere Hall in Karachi on Sunday evening.

People who are transgender and hail from different areas of Sindh attended the event, hoping it would be the first step towards making a concerted change in society.

Other rights collectives, including the Aurat March Karachi, Karachi Bachao Tehreek, and Progressive Students Federation Karachi, extended their unconditional support to the organizers of the Sindh Moorat March.
