The skippers of Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh unveiled the series trophy in Christchurch as matches are set to commence on October 7. The Pakistan Cricket Board on its official Twitter account shared the pictures of glittering trophy.
Babar Azam can be seen posing with New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, and Bangladesh’s Nurul Hasan Sohan with the trophy. The Pakistani squad reached New Zealand on Tuesday and greeted by chilly weather in Christchurch. Green shirts will take on Bangladesh in the opening game. The local weather department predicted light showers and snowfall which may affect training sessions.
The tri-series will be contested entirely in Christchurch, with the first match between Pakistan and Bangladesh scheduled for October 7. The series finale scheduled for October 14. Those scheduled to compete in the ICC T20 World Cup will fly directly from Pakistan to Australia. Following the tri-series, Pakistan’s squad will compete in the highly awaited mega T20 event before going to Australia on October 15 for the World Cup 2022. The team will hold a practise session on October 17 and 19, before of its World Cup matches.
