Turkish Actors Raise More than $6 Billion for Earthquake Affectees

To help the victims of the recent earthquake, a fundraising effort coordinated by eight major TV stations and several Turkish celebrities has raised almost $6.1 billion.


Many Turkish television and radio stations started the relief effort, known as Turkey One Heart, in reaction to the catastrophe. Millions of people from Turkey and other nations took part in the massive fundraising effort to aid tens of thousands of earthquake survivors, including children, adults, corporations, religious organizations, private organizations, and labour unions.


According to Daily Sabah, the seven-hour fundraiser was hosted by well-known Turkish TV personalities like Nihat Hatipoglu, Pelin Cift, former model Ala Ikel, media mogul Acun Ilcal, and others.
