Masjid Al Haram Introduces New Shoe Rack System Using Numbers, Letters and Colors to Help Visitors Find Their Shoes Easily

Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah has introduced an updated shoe rack system designed to help worshippers and visitors locate their footwear more easily.

Under the new arrangement, shoe racks are identified using a combination of letters and numbers, with markings such as “C-031” helping visitors remember the exact location of their shoes.

The system also introduces coloured labels, replacing the previous arrangement that relied mainly on black-numbered markings. The addition of colours provides another visual reference, which can make it easier for visitors to identify their designated rack after completing prayers.

With thousands of worshippers visiting the Prophet’s Mosque, finding footwear can sometimes become challenging, particularly during busy periods. The new identification system is intended to provide a clearer and more organised way of locating shoes within the mosque’s facilities.

The simple change can be particularly useful for elderly visitors, families and those unfamiliar with the mosque’s layout. By combining letters, numbers and colours, the system offers multiple ways for visitors to remember where they placed their belongings.

The updated shoe rack arrangement is part of the ongoing efforts to improve services and convenience for worshippers at Masjid an-Nabawi. Such practical measures can help make movement around the mosque easier, allowing visitors to spend less time searching for their footwear and more time focused on their worship.
