Uzbekistan to Launch Direct Flight to Karachi

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, has announced plans to launch a direct flight route between Uzbekistan and Karachi this year. This development aims to strengthen ties and improve connectivity between the two countries.

The announcement follows a $1 billion trade agreement signed in 2023, which has paved the way for further collaboration in various sectors. Ambassador Tukhtaev shared that bilateral trade between Pakistan and Uzbekistan has grown significantly, tripling over the past five years.

He also highlighted the importance of cultural and trade initiatives in boosting relations. One example is the success of the “Made in Pakistan” exhibition held in Tashkent, which showcased Pakistani products and industries to Uzbek audiences.

Similarly, plans are underway to organize a “Made in Uzbekistan” exhibition in Karachi. This event aims to promote Uzbek goods and encourage stronger economic partnerships.

The ambassador expressed optimism about the future of Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations, emphasizing the mutual benefits of expanding trade, cultural exchange, and connectivity.

He added that direct flights would make it easier for businesses and tourists to travel, further enhancing people-to-people connections.

With growing cooperation and initiatives in trade and culture, both countries are moving towards a stronger and more dynamic partnership, benefiting their economies and fostering closer ties between their citizens.
