Wasim Akram Picks All-Time India-Pakistan XI, Leaves out Babar Azam and Rohit Sharma

Before the ICC World Cup 2023 and the India-Pakistan match on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, former Pakistan cricket legend and 1992 World Cup winner Wasim Akram selected his combined playing XI, featuring players from both India and Pakistan. Surprisingly, Akram omitted current captains Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam from his lineup.

In the opening positions, he chose Virender Sehwag and Saeed Anwar. At number three, he selected Sachin Tendulkar, known for his numerous international centuries. For the fourth position, Akram had a tough choice but ultimately went with Javed Miandad due to his exceptional batting skills, situational awareness, and excellent fielding abilities during his prime.

Virat Kohli was his pick for the fifth position, acknowledging Kohli’s undeniable talent. At number six, Akram chose Imran Khan, who would also lead the team. Kapil Dev, one of Akram’s heroes, was chosen for the seventh position. MS Dhoni was the wicketkeeper, while the bowling lineup included Saqlain Mushtaq, Jasprit Bumrah, and Waqar Younis.
