Candela’s new electric passenger ship, the P-12, is set to join Stockholm’s public transport in 2024, significantly reducing a 55-minute commute to just 25 minutes.
This unique boat, designed by Swedish tech company Candela Technology AB, is the world’s first electric flying passenger ship.
After successful test flights in Sweden, it will now go into production. The P-12 is 39 feet (12 meters) long, powered by a 252-kilowatt-hour battery, and can carry up to 30 passengers.
With a top speed of 30 knots (35 mph or 56 km/h), it aims to make transportation in Stockholm more efficient and quicker.
The electric flying ship has a range of up to 50 nautical miles (92.6 kilometers), flying at a cruising speed of 25 knots (29 mph, or 46 km/h). This innovative approach to water transport could transform the daily commute for many in Stockholm.
