YouTube, the popular video-sharing platform, has introduced a new AI-powered feature called “Dream Screen” for short-form content creators. This technology allows users to easily create AI-generated videos or image backgrounds for short-form videos, known as “shorts,” by providing prompts.
Toni Reid, YouTube’s vice president for community products, mentioned that they’ve introduced a range of products and features to enhance creative expression. These AI-powered production tools will assist in editing both short and long-form videos on the platform.
YouTube faces fierce competition from platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels in the short-form video market. To stay competitive, they’ve launched these new features to attract more users and creators.
In addition to “Dream Screen,” YouTube is releasing a mobile app called “YouTube Create” designed to assist creators. This app includes AI features like editing, trimming, automatic captioning, voiceovers, access to filters, and royalty-free music. The app is currently in beta testing on Android in select markets and will initially be free.
Furthermore, YouTube plans to provide creators with more AI-powered tools for insights, auto-dubbing, and finding music and soundtracks for their videos.
