220 Centers Established for Accelerated Learning in Balochistan

With the help of Unicef, the Balochistan Education Department has developed 220 Accelerated Learning Program centers in various districts across the province.

These centers are mainly located in areas where there are no government schools. In these centers, approximately 8,000 students receive free education.

The initiative aims to offer primary education to out-of-school children in three years, rather than the normal six, in order to close the age gap caused by these children missing school years. The primary goal of launching this initiative was to ensure that overage children’s time was not wasted.

According to the students’ parents, before the establishment of this center in the city, their children spent the majority of their time picking up garbage, but now they are receiving an education. They can communicate in Urdu and are learning English and mathematics.

Sher Khan Bazai, Secretary of Secondary Education, paid a visit to the New Kahan center and distributed school bags to students.
