30 Doctors Dismissed from Service in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has dismissed 30 doctors over alleged fake Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) registrations and irregularities in their appointments.

According to an official notification, the decision was made after the department reviewed the doctors’ explanations, available evidence and inquiry reports. The affected individuals were reportedly issued show-cause notices and given opportunities to present their positions during formal hearings before the department reached its decision.

Alongside the dismissals, authorities have decided to recover government dues from the doctors concerned. However, the total amount to be recovered has not been disclosed.

The department has not released the names of the dismissed doctors or identified the healthcare facilities where they were appointed.

The action highlights the department’s efforts to address alleged irregularities in medical registrations and government appointments. Valid professional registration is an important requirement for doctors to practise legally and maintain professional standards in Pakistan.

The department’s decision followed a formal review process, including the examination of responses and inquiry findings. Further details about the cases, the nature of the alleged registration irregularities and the amount of government funds involved have yet to be made public.

The latest development comes amid efforts to strengthen oversight of healthcare professionals and ensure compliance with registration and recruitment requirements across government health facilities in the province.
