Mari Energies Limited and xLoop Digital today celebrated the graduation of Cohort I of the Mari Digital Skills, Training & Employment Program at a ceremony held at xLoop Digital’s Karachi office. The five month program trained 44 young people from rural areas of Pakistan, including five female participants, in Artificial Intelligence and Agentic Development, as well as Full Stack Development. The program combined structured learning with hands on, project based experience designed to prepare graduates for real employment.
All graduates of Cohort I have been placed into internships and employment, marking a program outcome that goes beyond training and certification alone.
Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mir Nasir, CEO and Founder of xLoop Digital, highlighted the importance of programs that directly address the gap between academia and industry. He noted that initiatives such as this create a genuine opportunity for female participants to establish careers and work remotely, opening pathways to employment that were previously out of reach for many young women in rural communities.
“Programmes like this are how we close the gap between what our academic institutions teach and what industry actually needs. For our female graduates in particular, this is a real opportunity, a chance to build a career and work remotely, on their own terms, without having to leave their homes or communities to do it,”
said Mir Nasir, CEO and Founder, xLoop Digital.
Mari Energies Leadership Addresses Graduates
The ceremony was also attended by Faheem Haider, Managing Director of Mari Energies, Naseem Qamar, Director HSE, and Danish Iqbal, Chairman of xLoop, each of whom addressed the graduating cohort. Leaders encouraged students to take advantage of online opportunities and platforms that can enable them to build capability and achieve well for themselves and their families.
Mari Energies believes in investing in people, particularly young people from the areas in which it operates. Its Corporate Social Responsibility approach is increasingly focused on initiatives that create opportunities, build capability, and deliver long term impact.
“If I can still be learning at this stage of my career, then certainly our young people can too. The world is evolving quickly, and continuous learning is what will keep them relevant in it,” said Faheem Haider, Managing Director, Mari Energies.
“For any of our graduates who want to pursue further education at the university level, Mari Energies is willing to sponsor and support that,” he added, telling the students how proud he was of what they had accomplished.
“Young people in our operational areas have talent and ambition. Our role is to help connect that potential with relevant opportunities,” said Naseem Qamar, Director HSE, Mari Energies.
“This was not just a training or certificate program. The key objective was to create a pathway from learning to employment and sustainable livelihoods. Our partnership with xLoop has helped connect the training with practical employment opportunities,” added Naseem Qamar, Director HSE, Mari Energies.
The Mari Digital Skills, Training & Employment Program is part of the company’s broader commitment to education, youth development, diversity, inclusion and employability.
