7 De@d in Tourist Vehicle Accident En Route to Fairy Meadows Diamer District of Gilgit-Baltistan

A tragic road accident near the route to Fairy Meadows in Diamer district claimed the lives of seven people, including the driver, authorities confirmed.

According to police officials, the vehicle was traveling in the area when it lost control and fell into a deep ravine. As a result, all seven people on board died at the scene. The victims included six tourists and the driver, who belonged to Darel.

Initial reports indicate that four of the tourists were from Punjab, while the remaining two were residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The identities of the victims are being confirmed, and authorities are working to inform their families about the unfortunate incident.

Soon after the accident was reported, rescue teams, police officers, and local volunteers reached the location and began a recovery operation. Due to the difficult terrain and challenging conditions, rescue efforts required significant coordination and support from local residents.

Officials stated that the bodies of the victims are being transported to the Regional Headquarters Hospital in Chilas for necessary procedures. Arrangements are also being made to hand over the bodies to their families.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. They are examining all possible factors, including road conditions, vehicle condition, and driver-related issues.

The incident has saddened many people, highlighting the risks associated with travel on mountainous roads. Local authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution while traveling in hilly areas and to follow safety guidelines to help prevent such accidents in the future.
