70 Year Old Australian Couple Abandons Journey on 102-Year-Old Car Due to Scorching Jacobabad Heat

An elderly Australian couple, Lang and Bev Kidby, had to pause their ambitious global journey in their 102-year-old car due to the extreme heat in Jacobabad, Pakistan. Lang and Bev, both in their 70s, started their adventure in London with the goal of finishing in Melbourne. However, after reaching Jacobabad on May 23, they found the heat unbearable and fell ill.

The couple’s journey has been closely followed by many, as they are traveling under the flag of FIVA, the global governing body for vintage automobiles. Their adventure has attracted attention in 100 countries, showcasing their dedication and passion for vintage cars and exploration.

Mohsin Ikram, their coordinator, explained that due to their health concerns, Lang and Bev decided to leave their antique car in Jacobabad. They arranged for their open car to be transported by truck to Lahore, while they themselves will travel in a regular car. From Lahore, they plan to cross into India through the Wagah Border and continue their journey.

Lang and Bev Kidby are well-known for their adventurous spirit. Over the past 40 years, they have led significant expeditions in more than 80 countries, earning a reputation for their remarkable travels. Despite this setback, their journey remains an inspiring story of determination and passion for exploring the world in a vintage vehicle.
