88% work on 1st CPEC hydropower project completed says, Asim Bajwa

According to the statement of Asim Saleem Bajwa- President of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority, 88% of the work has been completed on the Karot Hydropower Project.

He further shared the information that the Karot Hydropower Project is the 1st of its type, in accordance with the CPEC, is being constructed on the River Jhelum and it is supposed to be completed in April 2022.

The 720-megawatt Karot Hydropower Project was originally scheduled to be completed in 2020. It has the power to generate 3.249 billion units of spotless electricity per year for the national electricity grid.

Asim Saleem Bajwa shared all the informatory details about Karot Hydropower Project in one of his recent tweets, and further added that the investment in it was valued at $1,780 million at the same time that 5,000 local people were directly hired for its building work.
