During the first nine months of 2023, Pakistan received recognition as the “best performing destination” in terms of tourism, according to the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s World Tourism Barometer.
Pakistan demonstrated a remarkable recovery of 92%, meaning it almost reached the levels seen before the pandemic. Notably, there was a significant surge of 115% in foreign tourist arrivals compared to the same period in the previous year.
This impressive recovery, reaching 115%, along with projections that international earnings will hit $1.3 billion by the end of the year, establishes Pakistan as a notable success story in the resurgence of tourism.
The country actively participated in global events and strategically utilized online outreach, which contributed to this achievement. Pakistan’s efforts in promoting itself as a tourist destination have proven effective, attracting more visitors and significantly reviving its tourism industry.
