Pakistan can Outperform India or Even a Greater Economy with Hard Work: PM Shehbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the urgent need to collect more money for the country, saying that with hard work, Pakistan could do better than India or any other big economy. He made these comments because many people in Pakistan don’t pay taxes, which means the country loses a lot of money every year – about Rs5.8 trillion. That’s a lot of money, about 6.9% of the total money Pakistan makes in a year.

In comparison, India recently said they collected a lot of taxes – $25.15 billion in April alone. That’s 12.4% more than last year! PM Shehbaz was talking at a special event to honor good officers who work for the tax department. He said Pakistan could collect even more money, maybe Rs24 trillion, which is a lot more than what they usually aim for, which is Rs9.4 trillion.

He said Pakistan loses money because some people are corrupt or lazy, and some just don’t do their jobs well. To fix this, he wants to make sure people get rewarded and promoted based on how good they are at their jobs, not because of who they know. He promised to fight corruption and make sure the tax department works better in the future.
