The Ministry of Interior, under the leadership of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, has introduced a new policy that stops issuing passports to Pakistani citizens seeking asylum in other countries. This policy, which emphasizes national security, requires relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to enforce the directive effectively.
According to this policy, Pakistani citizens who have been granted asylum in foreign countries will not be able to obtain new passports or renew their existing ones. Furthermore, the government may revoke the passports of those who have already received asylum.
The primary goal of this measure is to prevent potential misuse of Pakistani passports by individuals who have sought asylum abroad. By implementing this policy, the government aims to strengthen national security and maintain better control over the issuance of travel documents.
Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the importance of this policy in safeguarding the country’s interests. He highlighted that all concerned authorities are expected to cooperate fully to ensure the effective execution of this directive. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in particular, will play a crucial role in coordinating with international agencies and enforcing the new regulations.
